new Delhi: One of Bollywood’s most successful and versatile actors, Aamir Khan has been ruling the Hindi film industry for almost three decades. Celebrated for portraying his characters with ‘perfection’, he was popularly called ‘Mr. Perfectionist ‘. Today, while interacting with Bennett University students during his virtual convocation, the ‘3 Idiots’ actor gave a keynote speech where he talked about his life and how he never chased success.

The ‘Ghajini’ actor revealed how his wise choice of screenplay turns the tables for him. He said, “After ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, I signed up about eight or nine films based on stories because the directors were all new and unknown at the time. These films started the bombardment and the media called me ‘One Film Wonder’ Said. My career was sinking. It felt like I’m in quicksand. I was so sad. I used to come home and cry. It was when I swore to myself that I was a great director, a great screenplay and a great producer. I will not sign a film even if it means the end of my career. ”
Aamir Khan further revealed that he once told Mahesh Bhatt that he did not like any of his scripts and when he was at the peak of his career, he refused to work on the project.
Recalling his days with ‘3 Idiots’, he said, “I loved the script of ‘3 Idiots’ and when Rajkumar Hirani approached me for the film, I told him that I am 44 years old, you give me Why would you want to play a college student.? I respect Rajkumar Hirani as a director. “
Talking about the purpose of films, the ‘PK’ actor said, “The primary responsibility of cinema is to entertain. If I want to learn about philosophy and sociology, I will join college. However, this is not the only responsibility. In almost every profession there is some contribution – the judiciary gives you justice, doctors give you health, etc. A creative society brings grace to society. I am not fair to people who only make entertainment films. If you are entertaining and giving good time to the people then this is our primary responsibility, it is quite good. “
On the professional front, the actor will next be seen in ‘Lal Singh Chadha’ opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan, a Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ film Forrest Gump.
