Australia’s limited overs team captain Aaron Finch on Sunday admitted that his selection in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions was not surprising but said it would not be bad to spend some time at home. In the IPL 2020 played in the United Arab Emirates, Finch scored for Royal Challengers Bangalore at an average of 22.3.
He was able to score more than 50 runs only once. Not only this, he could not leave an impact even in the Big Bash League (BBL). He scored 179 runs in 13 innings for Melbourne Renegades at an average of 13.76. Finch said on the eve of the first T20 International against New Zealand, ‘It would have been nice to play again. It is a great competition but to be honest, my selection was not unexpected.
He said, ‘I like to play cricket but it is not a bad thing to spend some time at home, especially since August we have a busy schedule when we leave for Britain. Will spend some time on quarantine and spend a lot of time in a bio-safe environment. ‘
Finch said, ‘I think it might be good to remodel yourself by staying at home. I know that my wife will definitely be excited about this. ‘
