‘Aashiqui’ actor Rahul Roy succumbed to brain injury, hospitalized; Test negative for COVID-19


new Delhi: Bollywood actor Rahul Roy, best known for playing the lead role in Mahesh Bhatt’s film Aashiqui, has been admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital after a brain stroke. The actor was admitted to Nanavati Hospital on Saturday (28 November). He was shooting for his upcoming film in Kargil when he suffered a brain stroke.

Rahul Roy’s health update

The 52-year-old actor suffered a brain stroke seven days ago during the shooting of his film. He was brought to Srinagar from Kargil and later to Mumbai for medical treatment. The ‘Junoon’ actor has tested negative for COVID-19.

Rahul Roy’s brother-in-law Romir Sen spoke exclusively to ABP News correspondent Ravi Jain, saying, “Rahul has been admitted to Nanavati Hospital. Keeping in mind the COVID-19 crisis, he is placed in the ICU. Precautionary measures. His coronovirus test report has come out as negative. There is nothing to worry about. His health is improving. “

Rahul’s sister Priyanka Roy also confirmed that her brother’s health condition is improving with each passing day.

Roy won many hearts with his performance as Rahul Vikram Roy alongside Anu Aggarwal in ‘Aashiqui’. The film is considered as a blockbuster, especially due to its music. He has also acted in films like ‘Ar Pyar Ka Saaya’, an Jaanam ‘, ne Sapne Saajan Ke’ to name a few.

Rahul also participated in the first season of the popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. He defeated Ravi Kishan and Carole Gracie to lift the winner’s trophy. The ‘Dilwale Kabhi Na Hare’ actor joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2017.

Popular TV actor Nishant Singh Malkani is also a part of Rahul Roy’s upcoming film LAC-Live the Battle. The contestant of ‘Bigg Boss 14’ is playing the role of an army officer in the film. Earlier in the day, the ‘Guddan Tumse Na Ho Hoga’ actor shared a picture with Rahul from the set of his film on social media.
