Team India, captained by Shikhar Dhawan, has won the 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka (IND vs SL ODI). India beat the hosts by 3 wickets in the second ODI to take a 2-1 lead in the three-match series.
Dhawan is captaining for the first time on an international tour. Dhawan, popularly known as ‘Gabbar’ among teammates, has shared a photo on social media in which he is seen having dinner with the team’s vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar and head coach Rahul Dravid.
Dhawan captioned the photo, ‘Beautiful night with amazing company.’ In this photo, Bhuvi’s wife Nupur (Nupur Nagar) is also sitting at the dinner table. Bhuvi also played an important role in Team India in winning the second ODI. Bhuvneshwar held one end with Deepak Chahar and both of them shared an unbeaten 84 for the 8th wicket to give Team India a spectacular victory in the thrilling match.
Deepak Chahar scored an unbeaten 69 while Bhuvi contributed an unbeaten 19. Chasing the target of 276 runs, India won the match for the loss of 7 wickets.
Suryakumar Yadav also played a half-century in the second ODI. Suryakumar scored 53 runs in 44 balls. The third and final ODI of the series will be played in Colombo on Friday. Team India would like to clean sweep the hosts to win the third ODI. After this, a 3-match T20 series will be played between the two teams.
