new Delhi: Akshay Kumar’s ‘Lakshmi Bomb’ has been in the limelight ever since the makers unveiled the trailer earlier this month. While the trailer for the horror comedy drama received good response, Flick has sparked controversy for several reasons. Many fans expressed their displeasure over the title of the film as they believed it insulted the Hindu goddess Lakshmi. A segment of Twitters users also trended the hashtag #BoycottLaxmmiBomb and accused the makers of promoting Love Jihad.

New title of ‘Lakshmi Bomb’
Raghav Lawrence, who has directed the much-awaited flick, went to the Central Board of Film Certification for a censor certificate on Thursday (October 29). The makers of the film have decided to change the title from ‘Lakshmi Bomb’ to ‘Lakshmi’ after discussing it with CBFC.
Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh informed fans about the change of title of ‘Laxmi Bomb’ on social media. He tweeted, “NEW DEVELOPMENT … #LaxmmiBomb Title changed … New title: #Laxmii … premieres November 9, 2020 #DisneyPlusHotstarVIP … stars #AkshayKumar and #iiaraAdvani.”
Karni army sends legal notice to the makers
According to a report in Zoom, Mr. Rajput Karni Sena sent a legal notice to the makers of Akshay Kumar’s film. He called for a title change and accused the makers of ‘deliberately’ using ‘Lakshmi Bomb’ with the intention of “disrespecting” Devi.
The trailer of ‘Lakshmi’ was reportedly viewed over 70 million times within 24 hours of its release. It became the most viewed trailer in a single day in India. Several Tinsel Town celebs including Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon and Vaani Kapoor praised the film’s trailer and praised Akshay Kumar for playing the ‘Hatke’ character.
‘Lakshmi’ release date
Prem Laxmi ‘will premiere directly on Disney + Hotstar on November 9, 2020. Is a Hindi remake of the Tamil hit film Muni: Kanchana 2, produced by Cape of Good Films, Tushar Entertainment House and Shabina Entertainment.

Akshay Kumar’s character will be possessed by a transgender ghost who will be asked to avenge his enemies. Khiladi Kumar will be seen wearing saris and bangles in the much awaited film.
