AR Rahman’s ’99 song ‘trailer looks promising; Priyanka Chopra is ‘in search of film’

New Delhi: The multi-lingual musical romance film ’99 Songs’, produced by Ace musician AR Rahman, was slated to release on April 16, 2021, but has now been postponed due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases. Directed by Visvesh Krishnamurthy and co-written by Rahman, the film stars Eehan Bhat and Adillesi Vargas in the lead roles. Aditya Seal, Lisa Ray and Manisha Koirala will also be seen playing important characters in the film.

The makers of ’99 Songs’ released the trailer for the upcoming musical drama and it looks promising. The trailer traces the emotional journey of a musician whose life revolves around his love for music and his girlfriend.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, earlier today, took to her official Twitter account and praised the trailer for ’99 Songs’. The Text for You ‘actress wrote that she is’ looking forward to the film’.

PeeCee tweeted, “Music has the power to move mountains and no one understands it better than this amazing @Rahman. What an electric trailer… Looking forward to the film. All the best Rahman sir, @itsEhanBhat & #EdilsyVargas @YM_Movies ”.

’99 Songs’ premiered at the 24th Busan International Film Festival under the Open Cinema category on 9 October 2019. This is AR Rahman’s first film as a screenwriter and producer. The film will be dubbed and released in both Tamil and Telugu with the same name.
