Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently credited Indian team’s batting coach Vikram Rathore for his good performance as a batsman. Ashwin, who landed at number eight on Chepak’s challenging pitch, scored a brilliant century to bring India to victory in the second Test.
After the third day’s play ended in the second Test, Ashwin said, “I wouldn’t say it has happened in the last three days.” I was practicing with Vikam Rathore for a long time. I would like to give credit for his batting. After a great performance in Australia, he expressed happiness that he could repeat it in front of a domestic audience.
He said, ‘I do not know when the next test will be here but I am happy. I do not know if there will be a chance to play Test in Chennai again or if I will get it. Mohammed Siraj, the number 11 batsman batting alongside Ashwin, was more excited than him on his century. Ashwin said, ‘Earlier Ishant used to be with me whenever I have scored centuries. After Siraj’s arrival, I knew how to play. I was stunned by how thrilled he was at my century. ‘
