India had a mammoth target of 390 runs. Kohli said that this target was greatly increased and one or two wickets were increasing the required runrate so in such a situation, he had to hit continuously. Kohli said that Australia has taken advantage of successive occasions and that is what really made the difference.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya was not bowling for a long time due to a back injury but he bowled four overs in this match. To this Kohli said, “Hardik was fine while bowling and he also told his bowling plan that he will put off off-cutters, but Australia took the advantage of the field right.”
Kohli played an innings of 89 runs in this match. It seemed that he would accept his team by winning. But this could not happen. Kohli, however, admitted that even if KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer had survived, India could have won as Hardik Pandya was to get to the crease later, who can bat fast.
