Australian opener David Warnar will not play in the remaining limited overs match against India. He suffered an injury in the second ODI against India on Sunday. Warner is no longer scheduled to play in the first Test as well.
Coach gave update
Head coach Justin Langer has said that he expects Warner to be fit until the pink ball test. The first Test between the two teams will be played from 17 to 21 December at the Oval in Adelaide. Langer told Sen. Sportsday WA, ‘He has an injury to his groin and he has told me that the injury is very painful. Looks like someone shot him with a gun. He was also suffering in the dressing room. We have just arrived in Canberra and so now we will not be able to see them for five-six days’
Supporting Stark, who is struggling with bad form, Finch said, “No need to be afraid”
Expected to be fit before first Test
He said, ‘He will be fit for the first Test match and I hope so. But he is the professional player, who will do everything possible to make up for it. Let us see what happens, but it is certain that they have been damaged. If Warner does not fit until the Pink Ball Test, then Joey Burns and Will Pukowski can be sent to start the innings for the first Test.
