The prestigious Ballon de Ore Awards will not be awarded this year due to the football season being disrupted due to the deadly corona virus spread around the world. The awards are given every year by the French football magazine Ballon d'Or.

Stanley Matthews was awarded this award for the first time in the year 1956 and since then it has been given every year. Argentina's footballer Leonal Messi has won the record six times, while his rival Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo has won the award five times.

Read, Messi's big record, won 'Golden Boot' for the 7th time in the Spanish League

This magazine also started awarding women awards in 2018, but this time it will not be given. France Football editor Pascal Ferre said, “This is such a strange year that we cannot consider it a normal year.” We started talking about it (about the verdict) at least two months ago. '

He said, 'We did not take this decision lightly but we have to accept it, it will not be a winner in Ballon de Ora in general. We are very worried, it cannot be given in such circumstances. '
