Mumbai: Months after the death of Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor, his younger brother and actor Rajiv Kapoor passed away. He has appeared in films like ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, ‘Lover Boy’, ‘Plasma’, ‘Hum To Pardes’.
According to some media reports, Rajiv Kapoor suffered a major heart attack and was admitted to Inlax Hospital near his residence in Chembur. Reports said that he breathed his last at around 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Karishma, Kareena Kapoor Khan and her mother Babita Kapoor were flown to Bandra’s former residence to meet Rajiv Kapoor’s bereaved family members.
Actress Neetu Kapoor shared her demise on her Instagram account. He shared a picture of the actor and wrote, “RIP the”
Tusshar Kapoor also mourned the actor’s departure and tweeted, “Saddened about Rajiv Kapoor’s death! Heartfelt condolences to the family! may his soul rest in peace”.
Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar also took to Twitter to express her condolences. He tweeted in Hindi, “I just discovered Raj Kapoor being younger. Rajiv Kapoor passed away. He was a talented actor. I was very sad to hear of his death. May his soul rest in peace.”
Actress Sophie Chaudhary also paid tribute on Instagram and said, “I am very sorry to hear this. Deepest condolences to the entire family. Rip off his soul. “
Rajiv Kapoor was born on 25 August 1962. He was born to Bollywood actors Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor and is the younger brother of Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor. He made his acting debut as the lead actor in the 1985 film ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’. He made his directorial debut in the 1996 film PremGranth with Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles. He also produced the film ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ in the year 1999.
Rajiv Kapoor made his last film appearance in the 1990 film Im Responsible.
