The special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act court hearing the bail pleas of Riya Chakraborty’s younger brother Shovik Chakraborty and others has extended judicial custody till 3 November. ALSO READ | Bombay High Court granted Ria Chakraborty bail in drugs case, jailed
Bollywood actress and Sushant Singh Rajput’s live-in partner Riya Chakraborty, her brother Shovik Chakraborty and a few others were arrested in a drugs case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. He was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau under various sections of the NDPS as sufficient evidence was found against him.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is investigating the ‘drug angle’ in the case and has arrested Shovik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda, Deepesh Sawant and several drug peddlers so far. NCB arrested Shovik Chakraborty on 4 September and remained in NCB custody till 9 September. He was later sent to judicial custody and has been in jail ever since.
While Rhea was relieved by the Bombay High Court granting bail to the 28-year-old actress, Shoaik’s bail plea was dismissed. The siblings were earlier in judicial custody till 6 October.

Meanwhile, the special court also took remand of the Bollywood actor’s girlfriend’s brother, Agicillos Demetriades, who is accused of being a major supplier of all types of drugs in the city of Mumbai. Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was found hanged in his apartment in suburban Bandra on 14 June this year.
