Root and Sibli which dominated the first day
The day started slow by the British. Then after the wickets of Rory Burns (33) and Lawrence (0) fell, the Indian team’s performance was in line with the giants’ prediction, but Joe Root and Sibli turned the dice in the second season, batting dhansu. Root (128 *) scored all the records in his 100th Test, scoring a historic century, but there was no cleverness of Virat in front of just 25 Test veteran Domnik Sibli (87).
That thing was not seen in Kohli’s captaincy
Before the match, Kevin Pietersen had said that whatever the outcome of the match, but the most talked about will be Kohli’s captaincy. This will be a hot topic for everyone. This is also seen to happen. Kohli could not do the cleverness with which Rahane troubled Australia. It was his clever decision to hand Bumrah the ball after Rory Burns was dismissed, but apart from that he could not leave any impression of his captaincy.
Bumrah could leave the impression on the first day, Ishant too empty handed
Pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who took two wickets for 40 runs in the first Test match against England in the first Test match released in Chennai. Apart from him, Ravichandran Ashwin also took a wicket blow. Veteran Ishant Sharma could not take any wickets while Shahbaz Nadeem and Washington Sundar also remained empty handed on the first day.
Surprised over Kuldeep not playing in XI
The commentators remembered Kuldeep Yadav when the bowlers did not perform as expected. Even Akash Chopra was shocked that Shahbaz Nadeem, who was included in standby today, was included in the Playing-XI, while Kuldeep could have been a better option. Due to the injury of Axar Patel, it was being speculated that Kuldeep would get a place. Looking at Kuldeep’s previous records, it did not seem too difficult.
Discussion of changing the ball was repeated
During the commentary, VVS Laxman had predicted during the lunch break that there were hardly any wickets to fall. It was also seen. Laxman said that Pata is the pitch. If the batsman shows a little bit of cleverness then the wicket will not fall. Interestingly, Sibale (87) was out lbw on the last ball of the day. If seen, the attitude of the Indian bowlers in the second and third seasons was also not taking wickets. However, in the last session, Ishant and Ashwin appeared to discuss several times to change the ball.
The spinners did not get much help on the day before the pitch
The most interesting thing was that the first day on the pitch that helped spin was the most successful fast bowler. Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets for 40 runs in 18.3 overs, while playing on his home ground. Ashwin got one wicket after spending 68 runs in 24 overs bowling. The most experienced fast bowler Ishant Sharma scored 27 runs in 15 overs, Shahbaz Nadeem spent 69 runs in 20 overs and Washington Sundar spent 55 runs in 12 overs. All three bowlers were seen craving the wicket.
