Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara was also bid at the players’ auction in Chennai on Thursday for the next season of the world’s largest T20 league IPL-2021 (Indian Premier League). Chennai Super Kings, captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, bought this Indian batsman at their base price. Pujara’s base price was Rs 50 lakh.

The applause started when Pujara was bought by the three-time IPL champion Chennai team. A video clip has been shared from the official Twitter handle of the IPL.
It is seen in the video clip that when Pujara was hit by the auction host Hugh Edmides calling Hammer, the applause began to ring.
In addition, Rowman Powell, Shaun Marsh, Corey Anderson, Darren Bravo (base price 7.5 million) were not sold. Also, apart from Racie van der Dussen and Martin Guptill, Pawan Negi also did not find any buyers.
