As soon as the video went viral, a call came in to boycott comedian Rose and the volley soon turned into a call to arrest the artist. Many so-called 'fans' of Rajput are also inciting Fernandez to harm him, while others reprimanded the comedian for making fun of the dead. Some people went as far as they wanted and 'anguished' for Fernandez's family.

A fan of SSR wrote, 'The worst thing you can do as a stand-up comedian is making jokes on a tragedy. Like and mass report this video to make jokes on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. 'Another wrote,' This video is a slap on humanity. Extremely humiliating and painful for all of us. How does a comedian mock a dead man like this? @ItsSSR he never deserves that we are humans? '

Post all the hate that comes your way, Daniel took to his Instagram account to apologize. He mentioned that as a comedian, he aims to make people laugh but 'sometimes in that endeavor it is possible that I might create an adverse reaction'. He also admitted that he made a factual error while talking about Riya Chakraborty when he used the word 'acquitted'.

In previous interviews, Fernandez stated that he himself deals with issues of mental health and anxiety.

Munavwar Farooqui and four others were arrested for making lewd remarks against Hindu deities and Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a show in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The arrest caused widespread outrage on social media and many people termed it an attack on free speech. Critics of the arrest and fans of Farooqi even went so far as to say that Farooqui never made the alleged remarks for which he was arrested.
