Rajya Sabha MP and veteran Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan has told actor-politician Ravi Kishan and actress Kangana Ranaut about his recent comments about the Bollywood industry.
Amid the growing controversy between the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and the flawed game going on for the last three months, Samajwadi Party member Jaya Bachchan raised the issue of a sustained effort to bring the film industry into disrepute in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
Jaya Bachchan spoke in Parliament on the second day of the monsoon session about an alleged ‘conspiracy to defame the film industry’. He gave a notice in the Rajya Sabha, which can be taken up for important matters with the approval of the Speaker. Bachchan demanded protection from the government and a ban on joint erosion faced by members of the film industry.
People in the entertainment industry are being instigated through social media. People making their name in the industry have called it a drain. I completely disagree. I hope the government tells such people not to use such language, ”according to ANI, Jaya said on Tuesday.
Just because there are few people, you cannot tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in the Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame: Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan in the Rajya Sabha https://t.co/cSvxi5dococ

Earlier, actor Kangana Ranaut called the film industry a ‘gutter’ and alleged that 99% of the people working in it are exposed to drugs.
Popular actor Bhojpuri and Hindi films and a BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh, Ravi Kishan, also made allegations related to drugs in Parliament on Monday.
Kishan said in Parliament yesterday that drug addiction is also in the film industry, saying that the industry is being “brought alive on social media”. Ravi Kishan asked the government to take strict action against those involved in drug trafficking.
“Because of just a few people, you can’t tarnish the entire industry … I was embarrassed and ashamed yesterday that a member in the Lok Sabha, who is from the industry himself, is sick of the industry.
Jis thaali me khaate hain mei chaked karte hain, “Ms. Bachchan said in the Rajya Sabha today, referring to the statement of the BJP MP in the Lok Sabha. Her comment in Hindi, the idiom suggests,” Cut the hand that feeds you ” .
