Former Delhi team cricketer Sanjay Doval has died at the age of 53. He died of cardiac arrest on Monday. His son Siddhant said that his father had been on ventilator for the past few weeks and on Saturday he was also found to be Covid-19positive.
Vinod Tihara, secretary of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), has mourned Sanjay's death.
On DDCA's Twitter post, Tihara said, “Sanjay Doval's untimely death is a very bad news for the cricket world.” On behalf of DDCA, I express my heartfelt condolences on this irreparable loss. Our prayers are with the family in this hour of grief. May God give the family the courage to overcome this sorrow. '
Former Indian batsman Akash Chopra has also expressed grief over Sanjay's death. He tweeted, 'I am sad and shocked by this news. We lost an important human in the cricket world today. Sanjay Doval Bhai (53) is no more today. There is no cricketer in this country whom he has not helped … and he did this by always laughing. always. He left early enough.
