Interestingly, this is the best score by a batsman of the team batting first in any T20 match against Pakistan. The record was earlier held by Sri Lankan Kushal Perera, who scored an 84-run knock in 2013.
There was a time when South Africa’s 7 wickets fell for just 65 runs, but David Miller took the front and pushed the team to a respectable score. Beside him Malan scored 27 off 17 balls, Bijon 16 and Fortune scored 10 runs. For Pakistan, Zahid Mohammad took 3, Mohammad Nawaz and Hasan Ali took two wickets each.
In response, the Pakistan team won by 4 wickets with captain Babar Azam scoring 44 runs in 30 balls and Mohammad Rizwan losing 169 runs on the basis of 42 runs in 30 balls. Tabrez Shamsi took 4 wickets for South Africa.
