Death of Rajiv Kapoor: Brother Randhir Kapoor says ‘it is unfortunate that he cannot escape’

Mumbai: In an unfortunate turn of events, Rajiv Kapoor died today after suffering a cardiac arrest. According to media reports, Bollywood actor Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor’s younger brother were admitted to Inlax Hospital near their residence in Chembur.

Elder brother Randhir Kapoor told ABP News, “After a heart attack at home, he was rushed to Inlax Hospital, but doctors declared him dead before admission. It is unfortunate that he could not be saved. We are taking him home now and will perform the last rites this evening at a crematorium in Chembur. “

Popularly known as Chimpu Kapoor, his death was first confirmed by his sister-in-law Neetu Kapoor as he posted on his Instagram and shared a post.

Many celebrities mourned the actor’s loss as he paid tribute to his social media.

Well, last year the Kapoor family lost two of its members, Rishi Kapoor and Ritu Nanda. Within a year, another bad news came with the death of the ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ actor. While Rishi Kapoor died on April 30, 2020 after a long battle with cancer, Rajiv Kapoor died on Tuesday (February 9, 2021) at around 1 pm.

Late actor Rajiv Kapoor was born to Bollywood actors Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor. The ‘Zimedar’ actor was the youngest of three brothers and two sisters – Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Ritu Nanda and Reema Jain.

Rajiv Kapoor made his Bollywood debut as the lead actor in the 1985 film Ram Teri Ganga Maili. He made his directorial debut in the 1996 film PremGranth with Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles. He also produced the film ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ in the year 1999. His last appearance as an actor was in the 1990 film ‘Zimedar’.
