Former world number-1 badminton player Kidambi Srikanth is happy that the Indian Premier League (IPL) will finally be held this year. The league was to start in March but was postponed due to the Kovid-19. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel, however, said that the window for IPL has been fixed from September 19 to November 8 and all the franchisees have been made aware of it.
Srikanth expressed his happiness on this via social media and said that he is excited to see the return of Chennai Sapoor Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni). He wrote, 'Glad to know that IPL is going to happen. I am excited and want to see Mahendra Singh Dhoni playing again. '
Dhoni has not played cricket since the semi-final match against New Zealand in the World Cup held last year. He has since been out of the team in the name of comfort. He was expected to return to the IPL but it was postponed due to the epidemic. Now that the IPL is scheduled to take place, Dhoni fans are excited to see his star again.
Patel said, “We had a discussion on this and we are thinking of organizing the league between September 19 and November 8. We have also informed all franchisees in this matter. '
There may still be some discussion about this window as players from England and Australia will be busy in the series to be played in England until 15 September which means they will not be in the first few matches of their franchise. Patel, however, said that is not the issue and it will be discussed in the next week's Governing Council meeting.
