Former Indian cricket team all-rounder Roger Binny has given his opinion on the cricketing future of Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni). Bini, who was a member of the 1983 World Cup winning team, has said that the former Indian captain has passed his golden phase, and he no longer has the same match-winning influence on the field.
Bini said that Dhoni has past his best (Dhoni has past his best) and now the time has come to make way for the next generation.
Talking to SportsKida website, Bini said, 'Looking at him for the last few seasons, I feel that his best time has passed. I think that the time that he used to win on the basis of his understanding and strength has now passed. And at the same time, his ability to encourage the players is not the same now.
Bini also questioned Dhoni's fitness. He said, 'His fitness is no longer the same and many young players are also coming to this system. Truly his best has passed and he will be the one to make the right decision.
Bini was also asked about her experience working with Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the national selector. Dhoni was the captain of the team at that time. The former all-rounder said that it was easy to work with Dhoni as he respected the person in the post.
Bini said, 'Mahendra Singh Dhoni used to respect former cricketers very much. I do this thing. He is a man with a lot of land and he had a lot of respect and time for cricketers. He used to come and talk to you and tell him what he wanted.
