East Bengal, one of the oldest clubs in India, has completed its 100 years. On this occasion, Baichung Bhutia, one of the great footballers of the country, shared his memories with the club. He also described the hat-trick, national football league victory in the ASEAN Cup, the Federation Cup semi-final against Mohun Bagan in his best memories of the club.
Bhutia, a former Indian Tum captain, started his career with East Bengal in 1992. He managed to win every single title with the club. Bhutia said in an interview to IANS, “I played 10 years with the club and I have some memories with the club. It is one of the great clubs in India which has a wonderful history. For me, it's just a matter of wonderful memories. '
When Bhutia was asked about his best moment with the club, he recalled the hat-trick he faced against traditional rival Mohun Bagan in the semi-finals of the 1997 Federation Cup. Also told the ASEAN Cup victory and the National Football League victory.
Bhutia said, “I win the ASEN Cup, then my hat-trick and the league with East Bengal, I will choose them.” I will always remember them. ”East Bengal won the ASEN Cup on 26 July 2003, creating history in Indian football.
