Ireland, on the basis of a 66-run partnership for the 8th wicket between Curtis Camper (59 not out) and Andy McBrine (40), lost all wickets in 44.4 overs against England in the first ODI match played at the Ages Bowl here. 172 runs scored. England won the toss and decided to bowl first and made Ireland worse. At one time Ireland found it difficult to cross 100 runs but Camper and McBrine saved the team from an early collapse.
Camper faced 118 balls in his unbeaten innings and hit four fours. At the same time, McBrine played 48 balls, hitting three fours and a six. Apart from these two, only three more batsmen – Gareth Denley (22), Kevin O'Brien (22) and Kreng Young – reached the figure of Dahi.
