England have not made any changes to their squad for the first Test match of the three-match Test series against Pakistan. The English team has chosen the same team for this Test, which recently won the three-match Test series 2–1 against the West Indies.
After losing the first Test match against the Windies, the host team won the series by winning two consecutive matches. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) website quoted national selector Ed Smith as saying, 'After three consecutive Test matches against the West Indies, we are now ready to play a similar series against Pakistan, for the next three weeks. I will play Test cricket for 15 days.
He said, 'County cricket is starting from Saturday 1 August. We want to have enough reserve players for the Bio Secure environment. But we can also give new reserve players opportunities to play county.
“We want the best balance here, so England can change the reserve players for the series against Pakistan,” he said. The three-match Test series begins on August 5, which will be played without any spectators in the empty stadiums.
