Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar said on Saturday that those who are calling Arjun’s selection in the IPL of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as an example of ‘nepotism’ are being ‘cruel’ towards the young player. In fact, Arjun Tendulkar was bought for the IPL by Mumbai Indians on Thursday at the Players Auction for 20 lakh rupees.
Arjun’s father Sachin Tendulkar has played for Mumbai Indians in five editions. Arjun’s inclusion in the team has led some people to criticize it on social media and he believes that he has got this opportunity due to being the son of a great player. In this case, Akhtar came forward in support of Arjun.
He wrote on Twitter that his impetus should not be killed by such irrational comments. He tweeted, ‘I think I should say this about Arjun Tendulkar. We go to the same gym and I have seen how hard he works for his fitness. Has seen his goal of becoming a good cricketer.
Akhtar wrote, ‘For him the use of words like nepotism is not good and is cruel. And before he starts don’t kill his passion and don’t let him down like this. ‘
