Farhan Akhtar’s release of ‘Toofan’ halted the second wave of COVID-19

New Delhi: The upcoming sports drama ‘Toofan’ is one of the much awaited films of this year. Directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, the film stars Farhan Akhtar as the protagonist. The movie was released on October 2, 2020 last year, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 epidemic. It was then announced that ‘Toofan’ would be released on 21 May 2021 on the OTT platform.

Now, as per the latest update, Farhan Akhtar starrer film ‘Tofan’ will not release on the digital platform on the mentioned date. Keeping in mind the second wave of COVID-19 epidemic, the makers of ‘Toofan’ have decided to postpone the release of the film.

Farhan Akhtar, who is also producing the film, took to his Twitter and shared an update on the release of ‘Toofan’. Farhan shared a note that wrote, “India’s situation is truly heartbreaking, and we at Excel Entertainment and ROM Pictures send their thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the epidemic.” In light of the seriousness of the situation, our focus is on the epidemic as a whole and on helping our employees, their families and the wider community. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the release of our film ‘Toufen’ until the situation improves. We will release updates about the new release date due to time. “

The actor urged everyone to observe the appropriate behavior of COVID and wrote, “Please continue to follow Kovid appropriate behavior. Also, please register and get vaccinated when it is your turn. On behalf of Tofan’s entire team, we call you Stay Home, Stay Safe and Stay United. Jai Hind.”

Meanwhile, apart from Farhan Akhtar, ‘Toofan’ will also feature Mrinal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles.
