Film Critic Rajiv Masand admitted to ICU in critical condition; Test COVID-19 positive

Mumbai: Rajiv Masand, who has made a distinct identity as a critic of Bollywood and Hollywood films, has contracted the COVID-19 virus. The film critic tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai a few days ago.

A source close to Rajiv Masand told ABP News that Rajiv’s condition is critical due to which he has been shifted to ICU. Rajiv Masand has been in the field of journalism for the last 25 years and is 42 years old.

Last year, Rajeev Masand quit journalism and joined the new talent management company Corner Dharma Adharshila Agency of Karan Johar and Bunty Sajdeh as Chief Operating Officer.

Rajiv Masand started his career in journalism at the age of 16 with the Times of India. He then worked as a film journalist with the Indian Express for a few years. He also joined Star News (now ABP News) as a film critic and journalist. He hosted the show ‘Masand ki Pasand’ in Star News, where he used to review films.

Rajiv Masand was then associated with the English news channel CNN IBN, which was launched in the year 2005. Masand’s show ‘Ab Dikha Hai’ is extremely popular among audiences and airs every Friday, where he used to review films of various genres.

Rajiv worked with CNN IBN for about 15 years. After the end of his contract with the channel in 2020, Masand joined the ‘Dharma Adarshila Agency’ as COO.

As a film journalist, Rajiv covered many prestigious film festivals around the world including the Cannes Film Festival. During the launch or promotion of films in many countries of the world, Rajiv Masand had the opportunity to interview Hollywood’s big stars.

He was awarded the ‘Best Entertainment Critic’ award thrice by the NT Awards.
