The Mumbai police registered an FIR against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel for allegedly trying to ‘create communal tension’ through her tweet. Police officials registered a case against the actress after the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate’s court ordered an inquiry into the complaint filed by casting director and fitness trainer Munawwar Ali Syed. In his complaint, Syed alleged that Ranaut has been trying to discredit Bollywood for the last two months. He also accused of promoting enmity between communities.

On the direction of the Bandra Court, the police filed FIR against Kangana and Rangoli on Saturday (17 October) against Kangana and Rangoli under 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion, race etc.), 295A (knowingly) Registered. A police officer told PTI that the act of hurting religious sentiments and acts of 124-A (sedition).
In his complaint, Syed also referred to Kangana’s tweet in which he compared Mumbai to PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir). To the disinterested, his tweet sparked controversy and led to an ugly dispute with the Shiv Sena.

Kangana took a dig at the Maharashtra government, sharing photos from her Navratri 2020 celebrations. He said that the state government seemed ‘obsessive’ about him.
She tweeted, “All are fasting on Navratri. There are also pictures clicked from today’s celebrations as I too am fasting, meanwhile another FIR has been lodged against me, Pappu Sena in Maharashtra obsesses over me Getting up, don’t miss me, so I’ll be soon. “
Earlier this week, the Karnataka Police registered an FIR against Kangana on her tweet against the farmers laws. A case under 108, 504 and 153A was registered under various sections of IPC.
A local court had directed the inspector of the Kathasandra police station to register an FIR against Kangana based on a complaint by advocate Ramesh Naik.
A complaint was filed under CRPC’s application U / sec 156 (3) for investigation. The office is here to issue information to the CPI of Kathasandhara PS (Police Station) along with photostat of the copy of the complaint to read the order.
