Virat Kohli's Virat Kohli's 183-run knock against Pakistan in the 2012 Asia Cup was his best innings by Gautam Gambhir, a former Indian cricket team opener. Gambhir said it was the best innings played by Virat Kholi in all three formats.
The Indian team was chasing a target of 330 runs in Dhaka. Kohli scored 183 runs from 148 balls with the help of 22 fours and a six. On the basis of Kohli's innings, India won by six wickets.
Gambhir was dismissed without opening an account in that match. He said, “Virat Kohli has played many match-winning innings in all three formats but that (183) innings was his best innings from all points of view.”
Gambhir said on Star Sports, 'First of all we were chasing a target of 330 runs. Then India's score was 0/1 and then came on to score 183 out of 330 and that too against Pakistan, and at a time when Kohli didn't have much experience. Really fantastic.
In that match, Pakistan had experienced bowlers like Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Gul, Ejaz Cheema, Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi and Wahab Riaz and Kohli faced them fiercely.
Gambhir said, “According to me, it was Kohli's best innings.”
