The booking platform of Indian Railways is the most used online platform in the country. However, for some time the railways had stopped booking of unreserved general tickets online. Recall that Indian Railways launched a new app UTS On Mobile on the mobile platform. Through this mobile app, users can easily book and cancel unreserved general tickets. The purpose of Railways with this app was to bring cashless, paperless booking. Apart from this, the purpose of this app was also to reduce the long lines at railway stations. However, the app was discontinued during lockdown in the country.

Unreserved train tickets for sub-urban section, non-urban and zonal railways can be booked through UTS On Mobile. Mail trains and suburban trains that were closed during the lockdown were stopped. But now about 90 per cent of sub-urban train services have been restored.

step 1: First of all, you have to give GPS permission to UTS on Mobile app. By doing this you will be able to book tickets from the radius of your city i.e. 10 km.
Step 2: For the mobile app, the UTS will have to provide name, mobile number and other important basic information.
Step 3: An OTP (one time password) will be sent to your registered mobile number to complete the registration process.
Step 4: After registration, your ID and password will be generated for the UTS On Mobile app. You can book unreserved train tickets using this ID, password.
