Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Ruturaj Gaikwad hit a 72-ball 72 against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday. His innings helped Chennai win by 6 wickets. Gaikwad was adjudged Man of the Match for his innings. He has scored 142 runs in 5 matches so far this season of IPL.
In the post-match presentation, when the 23-year-old young batsman was asked about the strength behind his shots, he replied that he works hard in the gym.
He said, ‘I work hard in the gym and I have six packs too.’
Gaikwad of Chennai started the innings after chasing a target of 173 runs. He was dismissed in the 18th over. Ravindra Jadeja’s quick innings tried his best to not let the young batsman’s innings go in vain.
Gaikwad also did well in the previous match. He played a crucial role in Chennai’s win over Royal Challengers Bangalore, scoring 65 off 51 balls. He was also voted Man of the Match in that match.
Gaekwad further stated that the corona virus infection made him significantly stronger. He had a corona before the start of the tournament in the UAE and it took him 20 days to recover from it. During this time he was in isolation. Gaikwad also told that Dhoni had advised him that he should face the problems with a smile.
