ICC Twitter Poll: Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan and current Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli are among the best captains. While Imran was the best all-rounder of his time as well as a clever captain, Kohli is known as the finest batsman and leader of modern cricket.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) had a poll from its official Twitter handle in which it asked which of these cricketers flourished in their personal performances after becoming captain. The options included Emraan Khan, Virat Kohli, Ab de Villiers from South Africa and Australia’s female cricketer Meg Lanning.

A total of 536,346 votes were cast in this poll. Among them, there was a thorn collision between Imran and Virat. Imran Khan got 47.3 percent votes while Kohli got 46.2 percent votes in favor. De Villiers had to be content with just 6 per cent of the vote while 0.5 per cent voted in favor of Lanning.
Kohli’s batting average as a captain in ODIs is 73.88 while the non-captain’s average falls to 51.
Imran Khan, who won the World Cup to Pakistan under his captaincy in 1992, has a batting average of 25.43 in Test cricket while the bowling average is 25.53. While the batting average as a captain would increase to 52.34, the bowling average was 20.26.
