India’s Ravichandran Ashwin has reached fifth place in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) latest world rankings list of all-rounders (ICC Allrounder) due to his outstanding performance with the bat and ball in England’s second Test match, while captain Virat. Kohli (Virat Kohli) remains fifth among batsmen.
Ashwin scored 106 in India’s second innings against England in the second Test match in Chennai and took eight wickets in the match. India (England vs England Chennai Test) won the match by 317 runs. He has 336 points on the all-rounders list. West Indies top Jason Holder (407) points in this list. He is followed by Ashwin’s spin partner Ravindra Jadeja (403 points), England’s Ben Stokes (397) and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan (352).
In the bowlers’ list, 34-year-old Ashwin remains in seventh place with 804 points while Jasprit Bumrah is in eighth position with 761 points. Bumrah was rested in the Chennai Test. Australia’s Pat Cummins (908 points) tops the list.
Kohli, who has played zero and 62 runs in Chennai, is placed fifth in the batsmen’s list with 838 points. Kane Williamson (919 points) of New Zealand is on top, while Steve Smith (891) of Australia is in second place.
Another Australian Marnus Labuschen (878) has moved up to third place while England captain Joe Root (869) has dropped to fourth place. He scored six and 33 runs in the Chennai Test. Cheteshwar Pujara of India was able to score 21 and seven runs in Chennai and he has dropped to eighth position with 727 points.
