The ICC released the Test rankings on Wednesday, in which Indian captain Virat Kohli has retained the fifth position. While his teammate Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant are jointly in sixth place. Debutant Devon Conway, who scored a double century in the first Test against England, entered the rankings at 77th position.
Williamson number one batsman
Kiwi captain Kane Williamson is at the top of the rankings for Test batsmen. Kohli, who captained India in the World Test Championship final against New Zealand from June 18, is fifth with 814 points. England captain Joe Root is one notch above him. Pant and Rohit have moved up a place to sixth place with 747 points each.
In the rankings for Test bowlers, Indian off-spinner R Ashwin is at the second position with 850 points. Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins is at the top with 908 points. Ashwin is the only Indian in the top ten. West Indies’ Jason Holder continues to top the all-rounders’ rankings. India’s Ravindra Jadeja is second and Ashwin is in fourth place.
