India is one of the largest market in the world as a smartphone market. In the recent past, many companies have also made India a mobile manufacturing base. Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2020 included many big personalities including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, also joined Indian Mobile Congress.
5G connectivity in India by 2021
During this event, Mukesh Ambani said that Reliance Jio will make a big contribution in developing 5G connectivity in India by the second half of next year. That is, 5G network can be available in India by the second half of 2021.
In his speech at the event, Ambani said, ‘There is a need to fast-track 5G network in the country, his company Jio will lead the 5G revolution in the country. Ambani further said, ‘I assure you that Jio will lead the 5G revolution in the country in the second half of 2021’.
Live in preparation to get cheap phone
Ambani also stressed the need for cheap smartphones in his speech. He said that around 300 million mobile customers in India are still using 2G networks. There is a need to take some policy steps for these people. So that they too will be able to use digital service.
