After registering the victory in the match, Virat said that he did this due to fitness concerns. Virat walked out of the ground after the 16th over and appeared in the dugout. He was feeling some vibe back then. He said that he left the field to avoid any possible injury.

Captain Kohli said, ‘I was running to catch a ball and I dived. I caught the ball, probably not in a better position. I left the outfield and started fielding in the inner circle.

He said, ‘The temperature in Ahmedabad also falls very early in the evening. In such a situation, your body also becomes hard. I wanted to avoid any kind of injury, so I left the field and returned to the dugout.

Rohit Sharma took over the captaincy of the team in the last 4 overs. The hosts defeated England by 8 runs to take the series 2–2. Virat’s absence during the last few overs raised doubts over his availability in the 5th T20 match of the series.


However, 32-year-old Virat insisted that he would definitely take the field in the final match of the series on Saturday. He said, ‘This is not serious. I should get better in a day. Our match is also to be held in the evening, which is very important in terms of the series.

Virat Kohli also praised Man of the Match Suryakumar Yadav. The 30-year-old Suryakumar scored 57 runs off 31 balls in his first international innings. He was the top scorer of Team India. The 5th and final match of the series will be played on this ground on Saturday.
