Will Pucovski Ruled Out: Will Pukovski is out of the fourth and last Test of the series against India. In his place, the Australian cricket team has included Marcus Harris in the playing eleven. Harris, a left-handed batsman, represents Victoria in domestic cricket.
Pukowski suffered a shoulder injury while fielding in the Sydney Test.
Pukowski fell on the field in an attempt to stop the ball on the last day of the match. He was then taken for a scan. Coach Justin Langer has also confirmed Pukowski’s exit from the fourth Test.
Pukowski has gone to Brisbane with the rest of the team but has not trained.
Harris is preferred over Matthew Wade to open the innings. This will be his first Test after the 2019 Ashes series. There too he was brought in as a replacement for Cameron Brancroft. In that series too, he was able to score only 58 runs in six innings.
Harris was not initially part of the Test team. But after injuries to Pukowski (Concussion) and David Warner (Groin), he was made part of the squad. Harris opens the innings with Pukowski for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield.
“Will’s shoulder was already swollen,” Langer said at a virtual press conference. He was about to undergo a scan after the game that day. Let us see what happens. If he could not play, Marcus Harris would start the innings. “He, however, hoped that Pukowski would be fit,” He is young and has played the first Test. Must be mentally exhausted. Today we will monitor his condition. Hopefully he will get fit and play. ”
