India vs England: Good news for Team India, Akshar Patel fully fit, available for second test

New Delhi
There will be at least one change in India’s final XI in the second Test to be held in Chennai, as Jharkhand’s left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem is almost certain to be out after a disappointing performance in the first Test against England. Nadeem’s option will be decided by Friday but it is expected that the all-rounder Akshar Patel, who is fit for the match, will replace him. Characters are available for the second test.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India issued a statement saying – Akshar Patel has fully recovered from the injury and will be available for the second Test. Akshar was recently seen practicing at the net after recovering from a knee injury. After this, Shahbaz Nadeem and Rahul Chahar are again removed from the main squad and placed in stand by. India lost in the first match and Shahbaz Nadeem’s inclusion in place of Akshar was not very effective.

Kohli did not hide his disappointment about Nadeem’s performance after the match and said during the post-match award distribution ceremony that Nadeem and Washington could not sustain the pressure created by Jaspreet Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin. Nadeem took four wickets in the match but spent 233 runs in 59 overs in both innings. Not only this, despite being a spinner, he threw nine Nobles in the match. Nadeem himself admitted that he had some timing problems while jumping at the crease while bowling and that he needed to improve on the net.

Read – England got a big shock, this star bowler will not play in second test

Washington Sundar conceded 98 runs in 26 overs in the first innings while in the second innings he had to bowl just one over. However, he performed brilliantly with the bat in the first innings, which is likely to give him a chance in the playing XI.
