India vs England: Jasprit Bumrah leads Javagal Srinath and Sachin Tendulkar, made a special record

India’s striker fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is playing the 18th match of his career in the Test series that started with England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium from Friday. This is Bumrah’s first test at home. Bumrah never played Test at home before. He has now a record of playing Test at home after playing most Tests abroad.

Earlier this record was named after another fast bowler Javagal Srinath, who since his debut has played 12 Tests abroad and then got a chance to play at home. Rudra Pratap Singh (11), Sachin Tendulkar (10) and Ashish Nehra (10) are also named in this sequence.

Talking about Bumrah, he made his debut against South Africa on 5 January 2018 in Newlands. He was part of Australia’s tour of India last month. He played in the Sydney Test but could not play in the Brisbane Test due to injury.

Bumrah has taken a total of 79 wickets in 17 Test matches so far at an average of 21.59. He has taken five wickets in innings on five occasions and 6-27 in an innings has been his best bowling analysis to date.
