Players of the England cricket team tied a black stripe on their wrist in the first Test against India at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in memory of veteran War Veteran Captain Tom Moore. 100-year-old Moore, a British Army veteran, raised millions of pounds last year to help Britain’s healthcare to fight the Covid-19epidemic.
Moore died Tuesday due to the corono virus. Joe Root and his comrades wore a black band before gathering for the national anthem and then arrived in the field.

Root said in a video shared by the ECB, this is truly sad news. I had a chance to talk to him early last year. I am sure that his family will be extremely proud of the legacy he has left.

It is notable that this is the 100th match of England captain Joe Root’s Test career. He made his Test debut in India.
