Excerpts from this conversation …
Quality products will continue to be brought at an affordable price
Infinix CEO Kapur says that we will continue to bring quality products at affordable prices. We have brought many such unique features to our smartphone at a low price, which till now have been available only in premium smartphones. Every consumer wants to get the best product at a low price. We brought from a big screen to a strong battery and a great camera in the phone. A user opens the camera first while purchasing a new phone. Also, pays attention to the phone screen. We have tried to keep both these things best in our products.
Planning to bring mid range phones and smartwatches
Kapoor has said that 65 percent of the market is currently up to Rs 12,000. We focus on entry level and so on smartphones. Bringing a mid-range smartphone is in our planning. But, currently the manufacturing capacity is very limited, so our mid-range smartphone may not come this year. We will also expand into new categories. At the moment, we have a smart band in accessories. We will bring smartwatches to the Indian market. Also, we have a plan to bring smart TV.
Infinix is bullish about the Indian market
Kapoor said that our company is bullish about the Indian market. India is a very important market for us. He said that the slowness in demand due to Corona Crisis will gradually go away. Demand will pick up around the fourth quarter. In response to the question of what credit crisis has once again arisen in front of Chinese companies due to Corona Crisis, he said, as far as we are concerned, we have made a big investment in India. Over time, component sourcing will increase here, we will do sourcing from here. “At the moment, we do not think there is any such crisis,” he said.
