Apple is bad news for iPhone users. Soon, Apple users will have to pay more for apps and in-app subscriptions. Actually, Apple App Store is going to increase its charge in 6 countries like India, Indonesia, Brazil, Colombia, South Africa and Russia. Apple said in its blog post that the company has to take this step due to increase in tax. Talking about India, Internet companies have been imposed 2 percent tax (equalization levy) in addition to 18 percent GST.
Equalization levy is a type of direct tax that is collected from foreign tech companies on earnings made through digital transactions. Similarly, in Indonesia, developers located outside the country will have to pay a new tax of 10 percent.
