Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli missed two catches in the match played against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), which became the major reason for the team’s defeat. Now after this he has been fined for slow over rate. “Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined for his team’s Kings XI Punjab for a slow over-rate,” IPL said in a statement.
“As per IPL rules, this is the first offense of the team related to over-rate, so a penalty of 12 lakh has been imposed on Kohli,” the statement said. Kohli had decided to bowl first after winning the toss in the match held on Thursday. While batting first, Punjab had scored 206 runs losing three wickets in 20 overs.

Punjab captain Lokesh Rahul had scored an unbeaten 132 runs. Punjab’s innings lasted more than an hour and 50 minutes. Bangalore, chasing a target of 207, was piled on for 109 in the 19th over.
Bangalore are scheduled to play their next match against Mumbai Indians on Monday. On the other hand, Punjab have to face Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.
