Not only skipper MS Dhoni is disappointed with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) tournament, but coach coach Stephen Fleming is also disappointed. He has said that after the 10-wicket defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians (MI), there is a lot of disappointment in the team but the way the team has played this season, it deserves to be at the bottom of the table. Mumbai Indians defeated three-time winner Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 10 wickets in IPL-13 on Friday. This is Chennai’s first 10 wicket loss in IPL history.
Fleming said after the match that the loss to Mumbai Indians was a symptom of the entire season, which is completely wrong. He said that Chennai deserves to remain at the bottom of the marks table. Fleming said, ‘This is a very disappointing and surprising season. A lot of things were tried to be done but we could not perform well in unison.
He said, “Losing a player, getting more than one over or losing many wickets before the start of the season.” It can be from a team. We do not have a personal number and hence our place in the marks table is probably correct. ‘ Chennai lost five wickets for 24 runs in the first six-over powerplay, which is the first time in IPL history they have lost five wickets in a powerplay.
The coach said, ‘This was the worst powerplay ever. The match was over in the Powerplay for us by losing wickets so quickly. This type of batting was very difficult to watch. There were some young players in our team who had a chance to prove themselves but that did not work. For Chennai, the 13th season of IPL has been very challenging. The team has been able to win only three out of 11 matches and is now almost eliminated from the playoff race.
