The players will be auctioned on February 18 in Chennai for the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Eight teams of IPL have retained 139 players this time while 57 players have been released from their team. Hyderabad has retained the maximum number of 22 players while Royal Challengers Bangalore have retained 12 players.
A total of 196.6 crores at stake
The Kings XI Punjab team has the highest amount of Rs 53.20 crore for the auction. After this, Royal Challengers Bangalore have 35.90 crores and Rajasthan Royals have 34.85 crores. Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad have a similar 10.75 crore rupees for auction. Chennai Super Kings has Rs 22.90 crore and Delhi Capitals Rs 12.90 crore. Defending champion Mumbai Indians has Rs 15.35 crore. A total of 196.6 crores will be at stake.

Bet on maximum 61 players
All franchisees have to choose their maximum quota and for this a total of 61 players will be required. If each franchise has a maximum of 25 players in their squad, 61 players will be auctioned (up to 22 of them can be foreign players).
How many players from which country
A total of 814 Indian players and 283 foreign players have registered for the auction. Out of 283 foreign players, maximum 56 are from the West Indies. Australia then has 42, while South Africa has 38, Sri Lanka 31, New Zealand 29 and England 21. Similarly, 9 players from UAE, 8 from Nepal, 7 from Scotland, 5 from Bangladesh and one each from Ireland, USA, Zimbabwe and Netherlands were included in the list.
