For England, James Anderson holds the record for most wickets in Tests and Stuart Broad is very close to him. Anderson has said that he hopes Broad will one day overtake him. Broad completed his 500 wickets in the third Test match played against the West Indies. He is the second bowler to touch the figure for England in Tests. Andersen had achieved this feat before him.
Anderson told Sky Sports before the start of Tuesday's game, “The kind of bowling Broad has done in the last two matches is fantastic and the credit goes to him and the hard work he has done in the last two years.”
He said, “He is now getting the ball out. We have seen how dangerous it can be when hitting the batsman's pad while bringing the ball in with the wavy seam. It is fantastic to see and it gives inspiration to not just the young players of the team but me too. '
The right-arm bowler said, “If he plays in this way, then it is very likely that he will take more wickets than me. He was saying yesterday that he can play till my age and that is right. He is in excellent form. '
He said, 'He is working very hard on his game and whenever he gets a chance to play, he leads, we have seen this last year against South Africa and Australia. He can take as many wickets as he wants. '
