The regular captain of the England Test team, Joe Root, has returned for the second Test (England vs West Indies) against the West Indies. He will replace Joe Denley in the team. The match will be played in Manchester from Thursday. Earlier, in the first match of the 3-match series played at Southampton, the hosts had lost by 4 wickets. In this way, he is currently 0-1 behind in the series.
It is notable that Root did not play in the first Test at Southampton due to his second child being born with his wife. In this match played in the Rose Bowl, Denali scored 18 and 29 runs in 2 innings. He and Jack Crawley were likely to be dropped for the second Test at Old Trafford.
Crowley, however, was England's top scorer with 76 runs in the second innings. Root, however, did not reveal any more possible changes to the team. Fast bowler Stuart Broad, who was out of the playing eleven of the first Test, may also return to the team.
