Lalchand Rajput was the manager of the Indian cricket team in the 2007 T20 World Cup, when India won the title. Rajput believes that Mahendra Singh Dhoni's captaincy is a mixture of former captain and current BCCI president Saurabh Ganguly and Rahul Dravid.

Rajput believes that Ganguly played a big role in changing the way cricket is played in India and Dhoni took it forward when he became the captain of the team in 2007.

“Ganguly used to give confidence to the players and he changed the mindset of the Indian team and I think Dhoni went ahead with the same thing,” Rajput told SportsCreek. If Dhoni felt that a player was capable, he would have tried to give him full chances.

The former manager said that under Dhoni's captaincy there is a mixture of Rahul Dravid and Ganguly. He said, 'To be honest, he is quite calm. A captain has to make decisions while on the field and he thinks two steps ahead. One thing I like about him is that he is a thinking captain. He has a mixture of Rahul Dravid and Saurabh Ganguly under his captaincy. Ganguly was a very aggressive captain.
