new Delhi: The Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Lakshmi’ has been in the news ever since the makers unveiled the trailer of the film on 9 October. The horror comedy drama was earlier titled ‘Laxmi Bomb’, but the makers decided to change the title after discussing it with the Central Board of Film Certification. According to a report in Zoom, Mr. Rajput Karni Sena sent a legal notice to the makers, accusing them of ‘hurting religious sentiments’ by linking the word ‘bomb’ with the Hindu goddess Lakshmi.

Keeping in mind the sentiments, the producer revised the title ‘Lakshmi’. Earlier in the day, he shared a new poster on social media with Akshay Kumar and the film’s leading lady Kiara Advani. Khiladi Kumar posted the photo with the caption, “Ab harr ghar mein aayegi #Laxmii! Ghar waalon ke saath taiyaar rehna 9th November ko!” Check it out!
‘Laxmi’ Star Cast
While Akshay and Kiara will be seen in the lead roles, the likes of Ashwini Kalsekar, Rajesh Sharma and Ayesha Raza Mishra are playing important roles in ‘Lakshmi’. The much-awaited flick has been produced by Cape of Good Films, Tushar Entertainment House and Shabina Entertainment.
The trailer of the film has received over 20 million views on the YouTube handle of Fox Star Hindi. The trailer of ‘Lakshmi’ reportedly became the most watched trailer in India within 24 hours of its release. Several Bollywood celebs including Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Siddharth Malhotra and Vaani Kapoor praised the film’s trailer on Twitter.

‘Lakshmi’ release date
The film premieres directly on Disney + Hotstar VIP on November 9. It was originally slated to hit the silver screen on Eid 2020; However, it could not release its scheduled date for the coronovirus epidemic.
In ‘Lakshmi’, Akshay will be seen playing the role of a transgender. She donned a sari and wore bangles for her character in the highly anticipated film. The film is a Hindi remake of the Tamil hit ‘Muni: Kanchana 2’. Raghav Lawrence, who founded the Tamil drama, directed ‘Lakshmi’.
