Left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Aamir has joined the Pakistan cricket team here after being found negative in two consecutive corona virus tests upon arrival in Britain. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday confirmed that Aamir has joined the team after spending the mandatory time at Quarantine. He was twice found to be corona virus negative during isolation.
The PCB said in a statement on its website, 'Aamir left for England from Lahore on 24 July and stayed in Quarantine for five days as per UK government guidelines and during this time he was found negative in two tests.
Aamir, who has retired from Test cricket, will play in the three T20 matches against England, which will be played at Manchester's Old Trafford from 28 August. Pakistan's England tour will begin in Manchester from August 5 with a three-Test series.
The PCB has also confirmed that the previously positive pacer Haris Rauf has now been found negative and is expected to join the rest of the team in England soon.
Cricket Board said, “Fast bowler Haris Rauf has also come negative in the second Covid-19test and is eligible to join the team in England. He was tested on Monday and Wednesday as per rules. “He is expected to leave this weekend.” His travel plans will be shared when the time comes. '
